I Can't run yarpmotorgui

Hi to all,

I'm a  new user of yarp and icub simulator and I have some problem when i run the Icub gui on the linux shell. I follow these guide lines for the installation from source:

after i chek my installation from here

and i can run the yarpserver , connect read and write port, run iCub_SIM, but when i digit yarpmotorgui and i check for the robot parts comes out this error:

"did not find yarpmotorgui.ini" but I don't know how to fix this problem.  Anyone has any suggestion?? Thanks.

Hi,

the actual error message is further below. You do not need
yarpmotorgui.ini for a default setup (like the simulator). However, the
ports of the simulator start with "/icubSim" rather than "/icubSIM"
(mind the capitalization). Thus, yarpmotorgui cannot connect to the
simulator. Thus, when asked for the robot, type "icubSim" instead of
"icubSIM".

It's likely you did not set YARP_DATA_DIRS env variable pointing to yarp share directory.

Hello Daniele,

It's been a while I don't use icubSIM but I believe (from the port names yarpmotorgui is trying to connect to) the robot name you must provide yarpmotorgui with is icubSim minding the captions. I think you wrote IcubSIM.
